facebook

i love facebook.  i mean i LOVE facebook.  but, i find it annoying sometimes that now with facebook in my life and in my head, i find myself living my life as facebook status updates.  as i am doing stuff throughout the day, i find myself thinking of the facebook status i would write about it.  now, this isn't consant, but happens pretty often, i admit!  but, before facebook existed in my world, i never had thoughts like this.  it has definitely changed my brain!  i do love facebook though!  i have been able to connect with family from all over the world!  now that is amazing!  family that i haven't seen in 20 years and some that i have never even met!  what a wonderful tool facebook is!  i think it is awesome that it can really help with people's businesses as well!  it has also been amazing to find friends from high school as well as elementary school.  i am a navy brat, so we moved about every three or four years.  so, i was ALWAYS the new kid at school.  that was hard.  it was also hard to leave friends behind.  i have found many people from elementary school on facebook and that has been neat!  i am amazed that people even remember me.  well, i remember them, so guess they would remember me, especially with a last name like Rehbein!  i was watching the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with my husband at the movie theater and during that part where the red headed newlywed and her husband come into the picture.....i said "i went to elementary school with her!" she was always in the school plays.  i remembered that she was very nice.  anyway, i found her on facebook and that has been neat to talk to her!  check her out....maria thayer!
 i got to move around alot!  i was born in portsmouth, virginia, then we moved to longmont,colorado to live with my grandparents while my dad was on a ship for a year. we then we moved to sandy, utah; then  ft. ord, california; then apple valley, minnesota; and finally, cary, north carolina.  after that i went to appalachian state university in boone, north carolina and then moved to asheville, north carolina with a friend after graduation!  i have since married and now live in fairview, north carolina which is just about 5 minutes from asheville!  i love it!  we live out in the country on family land.  it is beautiful out here!  i am finding that i love the country life. i grew up in neighborhoods, so it has definitely been an adjustment for me to live out here.  we were driving by in the area one night while our house was being built so we decided to stop by and look at the progress.  we got out of the car and it was SO dark.  i just couldn't believe how dark it was!  it gave me the creeps and i had to get back in the car.  i felt like there were animals that could be anywhere looking at me!  i was scared.  we have lived here almost five years now and i have since settled in to the country life.  i have seen bears by our house and didn't freak out nearly as much as i thought i would.  it is weird to see a bear by your house though!  but, of course i ran and got the camera!
